Learning Beyond the Classroom
City Study Centre’s Outdoor Education program is a vital part of our community, designed to connect students with the world around them through immersive, hands-on experiences. The program begins with a two-night orientation camping trip to the eastern highlands. Throughout the year, students continue to engage in overnight camping and backpacking trips that build on these foundational experiences.
Our curriculum integrates thoughtfully designed activities and lessons to ensure students get the most out of each excursion. They are prepared with knowledge about the diverse environments they’ll encounter and the skills they need for success. From hiking and camping to working on local farms, students learn outside traditional classrooms, progressing at their own pace while fostering a deeper connection with nature.

Athletics
Our high schools offer a variety of sports programs for boys and girls, including soccer, basketball, handball, volleyball, cross country and more.
After School Programs
Our students have the opportunity to participate in a free, daily, after school enrichment program. We partner with after-school program providers to provide robust opportunities for our students after school hours.
Life Experience Lessons
Through our hallmark “Life Experience Lessons,” students access horizon-broadening field trips. They explore local museums, mountains, and beaches; travel to national parks; hike, camp, and canoe; tour colleges across the country; and more.
Beyond Defense & Leadership Retreats
City Study Centre’s innovative program, Beyond Defense, is a comprehensive, social-emotional and self-defense curriculum to empower young women to successfully navigate relationships, affirmative consent, and personal boundary setting.
Through leadership retreats for our young men, we teach lessons about boundaries, social cues, consent, and positive bystander behavior. Our young men learn empathy, character, and compassion.
